3 Belugas Sighted in Warren River, RI
May 14, 2015
EastBayRI.com: A few lucky boaters in Warren got an exceedingly rare treat Wednesday [May 13] — a close-up encounter with 3 beluga whales. The 3 whales, which are native to the Arctic Ocean and are almost never seen this far south, were spotted just before noon in the Warren River channel halfway between Warren and Barrington. Capt. Jason Reinalda, who fishes commercially out of Warren aboard the Ellie Grace, heard about the whales and after a short search found them just north of the red can near Adams Point in Barrington.
