4 Rescued After Tug Sinks off Point Judith

Providence Journal: A 50’ tug boat towing an empty barge overturned in stormy seas off Point Judith [RI] Wednesday evening [Oct. 11]. Officials said 4 people were rescued from the water by people on a fishing boat.

A Coast Guard spokesman at the Woods Hole regional sector station, in Massachusetts, said the incident occurred at about 6:20 p.m. and that at some point the barge broke free from the tug.
