6 Recued off Jamestown, RI

Six people were rescued after their boat capsized off the northern tip of Conanicut Island in Narragansett Bay on Friday evening, May 22.

According to the RI Department of Environmental Management, a Good Samaritan noticed the incident from shore and called 911. Jamestown fire and rescue responded, as did DEM and other rescue personnel.

All six people were brought to transported to local hospitals for evaluation.

No word on what caused the boat to capsize, but officials are investigating.
