Sailboat Sinks After Striking Nantucket Harbor Jetty

The Nantucket Inquirer & Mirror reports that a sailboat sank in the Nantucket Harbor entrance channel after striking the East Jetty on Saturday night, June 27. The boat sank after being pulled off the rocks by the Coast Guard, then drifted across the channel and came to rest against the West Jetty. The lone crewman aboard the boat was rescued by the Coast Guard after he jumped in the water.
