Menemsha Inn to Host Wounded Veterans Fishing Trip

The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management will be holding a public workshop which is when they will explain how the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) scientists have determined the current stock status for each species, how well each state did in holding to its quota and what changes, if any, must be made to compensate for 2016.

Recreational regulations for Summer Flounder  (fluke), Tautog, Scup, Black Sea Bass and Striped Bass will be discussed at the workshop meeting.

After the regs are explained, the public can ask questions and make suggestions.

A week after the workshop, RIDEM will hold a formal public hearing, and this is where members of the public can attend and voice support or opposition for any of the suggestions that came out of the workshop.  The hearing will be held Tuesday, February 16 at 6:00 PM at URI Coastal Institute Building, Hazard Room, South Ferry Rd., Narragansett, RI.
