Artist Proposes Block Island Sea Float Scavenger Hunt

Block Island Times: If a planned art project wins local funding, visitors and residents could be hunting Block Island’s beaches and trails for glass baubles next year.
Members of the Block Island Tourism Council this week heard from Wakefield glass blower Eben Horton, who came to the island to pitch a novel and artsy idea: a scavenger-hunt event meant to attract tourists to the island. Horton would place glass “sea floats” —small, round glass orbs he’s crafted—in selected locations around the island, ready for people to search for them.
