Big Prizes for Save the Harbor Treasure Hunt
September 30, 2015
If you find a marble on a Boston area beach from now until October 31, 2015, you could win two round-trip flights for you and a friend to any domestic destination JetBlue serves from Boston’s Logan Airport.
The 4th annual Save the Harbor / JetBlue “Simply Marble-ous” Treasure Hunt is free and easy to enter. If you find a marble on your favorite beach from Nahant to Nantasket, just take a photo of yourself with your marble, post it on Save the Harbor’s Facebook page and email the photo with your contact information to email@example.com and you could be this year’s winner.
If you don’t find a marble on the beach, you can still join in the fun by buying a “Virtual Marble” online for just $10 at any time before October 31.
The funds raised will be used to support free youth and beach programs from Nahant to Nantasket. You can find out more about the contest and buy your marble HERE.
The “Simply-Marble-ous” Treasure Hunt began in 2012 at a beach cleanup led by JetBlue crewmembers and Save the Harbor/Save the Bay. The more than 100 participants spent the day doing 5-week’s-worth of maintenance to DCR’s Carson Beach Reservation in South Boston. When they were finished, they released marbles into the water for Boston beach-goers to find – starting a tradition that continues to this day.
More than 100 pounds of marbles – 1,000 marbles – have been released so far on Boston area beaches from Nahant to Nantasket, so start hunting!
The winner will be announced on November 1, so be sure to follow Save the Harbor on Facebook and Twitter.
