Block Island Data-Collection Buoy Tips Over

The Block Island Times reports that the Sea ZephIR data-collection buoy deployed off Block Island 3 weeks ago by Deepwater Wind has tipped over.
According to a Deepwater representative, the buoy experienced some type of structural failure this past Monday evening. The buoy, which was designed to collect wind data prior to development of a wind farm off Block Island, was towed to New Harbor and tied off to the end of the Champlin’s Marina dock.
