The Block Island Times reports that the mooring line connecting 2 large transport barges carrying 5 deck platforms for the Deepwater Wind Block Island Wind Farm broke in heavy seas off the west side of the island on Tuesday, Oct. 20. The loose barge apparently drifted within 100 yards of shore before 2 tugs were able to push it into deeper water.
