Boat Catches Fire in Maine

The Herald Gazette reports that the South Thomaston Fire Department responded to a boat fire in Nabby Cove just off Red Oak Drive. The fire occurred at about 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25.

Firefighters responded in a lobsterboat from Atwood’s Wharf and the boat was fully involved when firefighters arrived, South Thomaston Fire Chief Bryan Calderwood said in an e-mail.

Once the fire was out the boat was towed into the Keag River and secured to the boat owner’s wharf on Chapel Street.
