Boater Injured in Shinnecock Bay Grounding

Suffolk Times: A 34-year-old Greenport [NY] boat captain and one of his 2 passengers were injured Sunday afternoon [July 5] after the man’s pleasure boat ran aground in Shinnecock Bay, Southampton Town police said.
Authorities said the 40’ vessel Satisfactory ran aground on a sandbar about 6:30 p.m., causing injuries to the people aboard the ship. Captain Gregory Nissen was taken to Southampton Hospital by Hampton Bays ambulance volunteers for treatment of a “possible head injury,” according to a police press release.
