Boater Missing off Bridgeport, CT

Coast Guard crews were searching in the vicinity of Seaside Park, Connecticut, on Sunday evening, June 12, after watchstanders at Sector Long Island Sound command center received a report from the Bridgeport Police Department of a person in the water wearing a white T-shirt and no life jacket.
It was reported that at approximately 4:30 p.m., 2 men entered the water from a 14’ inflatable raft. One male was able to swim to shore but lost sight of the other person in the water.
A Coast Guard Station New Haven, 45’ Response Boat-Medium and an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod were launched to search for the missing person.
Bridgeport and Fairfield Fire Departments also assisting with the search.
