Boating Facilities Must Now Be Accessible To Disabled

The first major revision of the Americans With Disabilities Act in 20 years went into effect on Tuesday, and included are new standards requiring disabled access to boating facilities.
The regulations apply to more than 7 million public places, including shopping malls, restaurants, hotels, movie theaters and more. The new standards, for the first time, apply to boating facilities, as well as exercise clubs, golf courses, parks and more. Places covered by the law have until March 15, 2012 to comply.
