Body Discovered in Submerged Car at Portsmouth Marina
November 5, 2016
EastBayRI.com reports on the discovery of a body that was found inside a car pulled from the water at Brewer Sakonnet Marina in Portsmouth, RI, on November 3. The body has not yet been identified, but officials say that the vehicle matches the description of a car that was operated by a 21-year-old South Kingstown resident who went missing last February.
It remains a mystery as to how the car ended up in the marina, between 2 rows of boat slips, and was not detected during the boating season. It is possible that the driver drove off the jetty on the marina’s north side and was carried by current into the marina. The car was only discovered after a sheen caused by oil leaking from the vehicle became more visible in recent days.
