Boston Commuter & Islands Ferry Service Facing Cuts in 2012

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is proposing service cuts as well as fare increases as a means to balance its budget as of July 1, 2012.

Part of the service cuts would eliminate commuter ferries and Boston Harbor Island ferry service from Quincy. Groups such as the Boston Harbor Island Alliance are protesting the proposed cuts, and are urging similar-minded citizens to voice their concerns at the series of public meetings (see link below).
