Boy Saved off Cape Cod

According to the Cape Cod Times, 9-year-old boy was saved by members of the Mashpee Police Harbor Patrol at around noon on Saturday.

The boy was apparently swimming off Washburn Island, in Waquoit Bay, when he nearly drowned. He was unconscious but breathing when he was taken to Falmouth hospital and later flown by helicopter to Boston.

No further word on his condition or the circumstances of the accident.
