Budget Cuts Threaten Cape Cod Waters

Cape Cod Online: Millions of dollars to restore salt marshes, herring runs and shellfish habitat on Cape Cod are in jeopardy as the U.S. Senate slashes federal spending this week.
“It looks pretty dire,” said Don Keeran, assistant director of the Association to Preserve Cape Cod, the group that spearheaded a campaign over the past two years to fund the local projects.
With the Senate engaged in heated negotiations — not about whether to cut spending but by how much — the future for the Cape projects looks.
