Cape Cod Officials Seek to Protect Beach Projects
August 14, 2015
Brewster, Massachusetts selectmen are seeking support for nine beach projects despite a petition on a special town meeting warrant that aims to halt at least some of them, according to an article on CapeCodOnline.com.
A petition signed by 499 registered voters has forced the town to hold the town meeting September 2. The petitioners want voters to approve a moratorium on projects involving the removal, relocation or creation of permitted parking spaces on town beaches. They also ask that the moratorium stay in place while the town studies long-term beach access plans, including satellite parking and shuttle service.
