Block Island Times: Representatives from The Nature Conservancy concerned with dwindling fish stocks visited Block Island this week. These conservationists were not New Englanders, however. They were from the Caribbean islands of Jamaica and St. Croix.

Dennis Abrahams and Nathalie Zenny, both from Elizabeth Parish, Jamaica, where The Nature Conservancy has a project to revive the coral and the fish in the offshore Padre Bank, and Aaron Hutchins from St. Croix, toured Block Island while visiting the Northeast.

The Conservancy’s Block Island Ocean & Coastal Project Manager Chris Littlefield took them on their island tour, stopping to see Kim Gaffett bird banding and meeting with the Block Island Times.
