CG Station Cape Cod Canal Launches New Rescue Boat

CapeCodOnline: The gleaming silver boat known as the RB-M doesn’t have a life raft. It doesn’t have a steering wheel. And it doesn’t have diesel tanks.

But what it lacks is a big part of what makes it special.

On [February 15], the United States Coast Guard’s Station Cape Cod Canal launched its brand-new 45’ rescue boat, replacing a worn-out 41’ boat that had served as the main conduit for the station’s 200 rescues and up to 300 boat boardings per year.
