Clammers Barred from Dredging off Provincetown

Cape Cod Times: A judge has temporarily barred a Gloucester, MA, fishing vessel from dredging for clams off Herring Cove off Provincetown while a dispute about who governs such dredging in that area makes its way through court. Clammers currently need a town permit to clam within 40’ of shore, as per Provincetown rules; however, the clammers claim that state laws supersede town authority, and that their dredging efforts are legal.
