Coast Guard Rescues Fishing Boat off Nantucket

The Coast Guard rescued a fishing vessel Sunday, August 16, 2015, towing it to New Bedford Harbor by Monday morning, according to an article on SouthCoastToday.com. There were seven people aboard, he said, and no one was injured.

The 63’ Challenger was reportedly disabled and drifting 70 miles off Nantucket. A line had become entangled in the boat’s propeller, according to a press release about the incident. The Challenger had 650 pounds of scallops on board, the Coast Guard said.
