Coast Guard Searching for Missing Teen in Newport, RI

The Coast Guard began searching for a missing 17-year-old boy in Newport Harbor on Tuesday, August 28, after he was reported missing by his mother.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, received a call at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, from a woman reporting that her son, Theodore Oliviera, had last been seen on a dinghy in Newport Harbor at approximately 11:00 p.m. Monday.
He was reported missing to the mother by a friend of Oliviera, who had seen him the night before.

- Narragansett Marine Task Force crews
