Coast Guard Tows Sinking Boat off New Haven

The Coast Guard responded to a recreational vessel in distress in New Haven Harbor, Connecticut, on Saturday, May 3.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound Command Center in New Haven received a report from a mariner stating that his 19’ recreational vessel was taking on water and requested assistance.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station New Haven arrived on scene with the distressed boater and established that the vessel had a crack in the transom. The boat crew towed the vessel to the Pequonock Yacht Club in New Haven.
