Contractor Left Nav Hazard in Vineyard Haven Harbor

According to a story on the website of the Martha’s Vineyard Times, a contractor for the Steamship Authority left a broken-off barge spud (stabilization poles) in Vineyard Haven Harbor that could potentially damage or even sink a boat.

The spud was left by marine contractor Robert E. Our, a Harwich-based marine contractor who hired by the SSA to repair the seawall adjacent to the slips in Vineyard Haven.

John Packer, owner of Offshore Engineering, was hired to pull the broken spud, and expects the work to be done this week.
