Cranberry Grower Charged in Herring Kill

Boston Herald: A Cape Cod cranberry farmer has been charged with allowing hundreds of thousands of herring to enter one of his bogs, resulting in the deaths of many of the fish.
State officials say Brian Handy of Handy Cranberry Trust in Falmouth has been charged with one count of taking or possessing river herring in waters under state jurisdiction. If convicted, he faces a fine of up to $10,000.
