CT DEEP, Coast Guard Team Up in Joint Enforcement Op

Recently, marine district officers with the CT Environmental Conservation Police engaged in a joint fishing and vessel-safety enforcement operation on Long Island Sound with the U.S. Coast Guard.

During the operation, a 45-foot USCG vessel was used in conjunction with the Cutter Coho and a smaller vessel.

Officers were able to conduct multiple safety checks and observed fishing violations, which resulted in the seizure of illegally possessed tautog (blackfish).
