CT River Eagle & Osprey Cruises
April 5, 2015
Connecticut River Expeditions is ramping up its spring bald eagle and osprey-viewing trips aboard the MV RiverQuest, a 64’ aluminum-hulled catamaran with a heated cabin.
Osprey are returning to the Connecticut River from their southern wintering grounds, and are beginning to nest along the edge of the river on platforms, in trees, on the top of navigation markers and even on the famous East Haddam Swing Bridge. Passengers are assured of seeing plenty on these trips.
There are also several eagle nests on the river, 2 of them visible within the RiverQuest cruising area.
Other points of interest on these cruises include the Goodspeed Opera House, the East Haddam Swing Bridge, Gillette Castle and the Chester Hadlyme Ferry.
Cruises are 2 1/2 hours in length and the cost is $40 per passenger (no children under 10 years old please).
Complimentary coffee and tea are served, and a limited amount of binoculars are available during the cruise.
