CT Tagging Project Tracks Horseshoe Crabs

TheHour.com: Eight people braved the early hour and volunteered to tag horseshoe crabs at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk on Wednesday morning (May 1).

Horseshoe crabs are fitted with a round tag as part of an ongoing study to track the population of the crabs in Long Island Sound.

The study is led by Dr. Jennifer Mattei of Sacred Heart University in Fairfield. The Maritime Aquarium, led by Joe Schnierlein, assists with the tagging.
