As part of its No Child Left Inside program, Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) will host a Saltwater Fishing Day this Saturday, August 16, at Fort Trumbull State Park in New London. The event will take place rain or shine from 10:00 to 3:00.

Instructors from Connecticut Aquatic Resource Educators (CARE) will be on hand to provide instruction, fishing equipment, and bait for anglers of all ages. People over 16, however, must have a Saltwater Fishing License.

Obtaining a Marine Waters Fishing License:

Saltwater Fishing Licenses are available through the Online Sportsmen Licensing System, some DEEP offices, and participating Town Clerks and retail vendors. Licenses cost $10 for Connecticut residents age 16-64. The license is free for state residents 65 and older. For out-of-state residents, the cost is $15 for all anglers 16 and older.
