Dead Fisherman Discovered in Hurricane Sound, ME

The Coast Guard is investigating the death of an unidentified man who was discovered floating alongside his unmanned fishing boat in Hurricane Sound on Wednesday, August 13.
At 1:43 p.m, Coast Guard Station Rockland received a report from a Good Samaritan aboard a lobster boat who had discovered the man. The station launched a response boat, while the Maine Marine Patrol dispatched 2 vessels to the scene.
Members of the Maine Marine Patrol recovered the victim and transferred him to emergency medical personnel in Carvers Harbor who pronounced him deceased.
The Coast Guard is now leading the investigation into the cause of the incident. Meanwhile, the vessel is safely moored in Carvers Harbor.
