Deer Rescued from Flagstaff Lake, Maine

On Sunday, Nov. 26, Justin Wyman and Warden Pat Egan helped rescue a 6-point buck that had fallen through the ice on Flagstaff Lake in Eustis, Maine. According to the Bangor Daily News, Wyman was driving past the lake when he noticed the deer struggling more than 300 yards from shore.

Wyman quickly launched his 19’ aluminum boat (which he had already winterized) and broke through the ice to reach the deer. After placing a rope around it antlers, they were able to tow it back to the launch ramp. The exhausted deer collapsed in some nearby woods, but later recovered, according to the article.
