Drunk Lobsterman Strikes Kayak
August 24, 2010
August 21, 2010: The Bangor Daily News reported that a lobsterman from Roque Bluffs has been charged with operating a watercraft under the influence after allegedly striking an unoccupied sea kayak with his fishing boat and then falling overboard.
The Maine Marine Patrol told the BDN that 46-year-old Glenn Preston of Roque Bluffs was arrested on August 10 after a sailboat crew reported that the lobsterman had struck a kayak being towed behind the sailboat.
A Coast Guard crew later found Preston hanging from the side of his boat. The lobsterman apparently fell overboard while trying to moor the vessel.
Preston was arrested 2 weeks earlier when he allegedly threatened another fisherman.
