East Haven, CT, Sea Wall Condition Worries Residents
May 23, 2012
New Haven Register: After Tropical Storm Irene demolished their roads, houses and beaches, some residents are concerned about a sea wall that is still in disrepair as hurricane season approaches. According to the town engineer, it’s a work in progress.
Kariann Price, whose home is still being repaired 9 months after the storm, said concerns regarding the dilapidated wall are twofold — that it no longer stops the surging water and that slabs of the wall now rest on the beach, posing a hazard to beachgoers.
