Edgartown Officials Meet Over Chappy Ferry Congestion

The Vineyard Gazette reports that the town of Edgartown, MA, is attempting to solve or improve the traffic congestion created by vehicles waiting to use the Chappaquiddick Ferry. Some residents want to institute a reservation system for the ferry next year. For this summer, it has been suggested that the cars waiting on Daggett Street form a double line down the one-way street. Ferry owner Peter Wells said he thought it was not a workable solution, but organized a trial run—with mixed results.
