Feds Reconsider Rules on Block Island Transit Zone Striper Fishing

NOAA Fisheries is considering removing the current prohibition on recreational striped bass fishing in the Block Island Transit Zone, a small area of federal waters substantially bounded by state waters.
The current prohibition may be confusing for anglers, and NOAA is soliciting feedback on possible options for improving striped bass management in the Transit Zone.
Get more information about the advanced notice of proposed rulemaking published in the Federal Register today. All proposed regulatory revisions would be published in a proposed rule in the Federal Register for public comment at a later date.
