Firefighters Practice Ice-Rescue Drills

Westport News: Westport, Connecticut, firefighters took advantage of a chilly day and icy conditions on January 6 to conduct simulated ice-rescue drills in the Saugatuck River off Imperial Avenue.
This is the time of the year when firefighters face the prospect of rescuing pets and people who venture onto waterways with unsafe ice coverings.
