Fisherman Medevaced East of Cape Cod

Coast Guard rescue crews from Air Station Cape Cod, Massachusetts, medically evacuated a man 105 miles east of Cape Cod on Wednesday, May 7.
Watchstanders at Sector Southeastern New England received notification at 8:30 a.m. that a crewmember from the fishing vessel Green Acres was suffering from abdominal pain, vomiting and symptoms consistent with internal bleeding.
The Sector Command Center held a conference call with the flight surgeon, who recommended a medical evacuation by helicopter.
An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter arrived on scene and safely hoisted the man at 10:30 a.m. then brought him to Hyannis Hospital on Cape Cod.
