A Coast Guard crew medevaced a 47-year-old fisherman on Wednesday, May 4, off the coast of Gloucester, MA.

The commercial fishing vessel First Impression II, homeported in Sorrento, Maine, called the Coast Guard command center in Boston at around 11:40 a.m., saying that a crewmember was suffering from chest pains.

Coast Guard Station Gloucester dispatched a 29’ response boat that arrived on scene at 11:59 a.m. A 47’ Motor Lifeboat crew with Gloucester Fire Department emergency medical technicians aboard followed quickly behind and arrived on scene at 12:03 p.m.

EMTs boarded First Impression II to give the patient medical attention, and the Coast Guard escorted the vessel to Gloucester Harbor.
