Fisherman Rescued off Jamestown, RI

Coast Guard rescue crews pulled a man from the waters of the East Passage of Narragansett Bay after on Sunday, October 13.
According to the Jamestown Press, Maudil Aguilar, 34, of Cranston, was fishing from the rocks at Fort Wetherill around 4:00 p.m. when he fell into the water while trying to gaff a fish. The swift currents quickly pulled him away from shore.
Jamestown Fire Department was on scene and used radio contact to help the rescue crews locate the man. Coast Guard Station Castle Hill launched a 45-foot Response Boat Medium at approximately 4:30 p.m. and safely recovered Aguilar. He was transferred to the Newport Hospital for evaluation.
