After years of planning and fundraising efforts, the bronze Fisherman statue depicting a surfcaster toting 2 striped bass was unveiled on Saturday, July 12, at the Buzzards Bay Park on the Cape Cod Canal.
The statue, designed by master sculptor David Lewis, pays homage to the thousands of fishermen who have plied the banks of the Canal since its creation in 1914, as well as present and future anglers. It also honors surfcasting legend and lure maker Stan Gibbs.
Donations for the statue are still being sought. For more information, click here.
