Fishermen Airlifted 110 Miles East of Cape Cod

Coast Guard search and rescue crews from Air Station Cape Cod medically evacuated a 62-year-old man from a commercial fishing boat some 110 miles east of Cape Cod at around 3:00 a.m., Friday, March 13.
The Coast Guard Boston Command Center received an emergency call shortly before midnight on Thursday that a crewman aboard the Capt. Joe was suffering from severe abdominal pain. In response, Air Station Cape Cod launched 2 aircraft at about 1:00 a.m.
Crews arrived on scene at 3:00 a.m., where winds were gusting to 40 knots and seas were running to 15’. The crewman was safely hoisted aboard a Jayhwak helicopter and transported to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. His condition is unknown.
