Portland Press Herald: In an effort to prevent a polluting spill, all oil products were removed from a grounded fishing boat near Jameson Point in Rockland [Maine] on Tuesday afternoon, the Coast Guard said in a press release.

The fish tender Rockland Gulf broke free of its mooring Sunday and ran aground in a muddy area inside the Rockland breakwater. Attempts to free the boat have been unsuccessful.

On Tuesday, the Coast Guard, the Maine Department of Environmental Protection and the Rockland harbormaster’s office supervised the owner’s removal of diesel fuel, lubricating oil and hydraulic oil from the boat.
