Fishing Boat Spills Fuel in Hyannis Harbor
July 28, 2017
Cape Cod Times: Between 20 and 30 gallons of diesel fuel was spilled into Hyannis Harbor early Sunday morning [July 23] from a charter fishing boat operated by Hy-Line Cruises.
The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, U.S. Coast Guard, Hyannis Fire Department, and harbormaster were notified that an overfueling of a Hy-Line Cruises fishing boat had caused the spill, according to DEP spokesman Joseph Ferson.
The boat was overfilled with fuel at around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, Ferson said.
