Fishing Vessel Sinks in Provincetown

Officials are investigating what caused the commercial fishing vessel Searcher to sink overnight on Oct. 28 at Macmillan Wharf in Provincetown, MA.

It is believed the vessel’s transom became lodged under the wharf due to high winds, after which the incoming tide pushed it down, allowing water to flood the boat.

A crane was used the following day to raise the boat so it could be pumped dry.
