Fishing Writer Merwin Dead at 66

The Hour reports that noted fishing writer John Henry Merwin of Dorset, Vermont, died on Wednesday, February 20, at the age of 66.
Merwin was the author or editor of 15 books on fishing, as well as a veteran fishing editor for Field & Stream magazine.
Among his books are “The New American Trout Fishing” and the best-selling “Trailside Guide to Fly Fishing.” Merwin launched Rod & Reel magazine (now Fly Rod & Reel) in 1979, as well as the trade magazine Fly Tackle Dealer.
