Bad Fish Outfitters in Falmouth, Massachusetts, is keeping a weather eye out and making some bold predictions on Cape Cod striper fishing for the coming week:

It looks like a big storm is predicted for the beginning of next week, which means get down to the Cape this weekend for a shot a monster striper!

Bass instinctively feed more before a storm, and I would not be surprised if some serious catches are reported this weekend with Tropical Storm Sandy looming large.

Before Greg Myerson’s record bass, the last lunker topping the charts was caught during a nor’easter in New Jersey.

If anyone dares to fish during a storm like this remember a few things:

  1. Wading belts are a must
  2. Don’t fish alone
  3. Try clams: they should be getting tossed and turned in the surf and have a great track record of catching big fish in big water.
