27East.com reports on the growing concern of eastern Long Island baymen over efforts to promote the sale and growth of farmed bay scallops.

The baymen who rely on wild scallops fear that the expansion of farmed scallops and the lower size limit in the farmed scallop industry will pose a threat to stocks of wild scallops or possibly hurt the slim profits they draw from the sale of wild scallops.
