Long Island Sound Report: 11.16.12
Pat Abate and his crew at River’s End Tackle in Old Saybrook offer the final fishing report of the 2012 season:
This will be our last fishing report for the season. We will send out notices of upcoming events when needed. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving Holiday.
Striped Bass: Most of what we’ve heard this week has been smaller bass from the Rhode Island Beaches to Plum Gut. Access has been open to the Weakapaug Fire District Beach and that has been having a sporadic run of schoolies. Similar action has been happening at some of the shoreline estuaries around here. Long Sand Shoal had small to medium-sized bass earlier in the week and likewise reports have come in from the Branford Reefs.
Bluefish: No Connecticut reports but some blues have been mixed in with the bass at Weakapaug.
Blackfish: Very few reports came in this week.
