Times Beacon Record: Every so often a rare work of art comes along that depicts the world of recreational angling in an almost spiritual way, unlike any written word can. Such is the extraordinary effort of Long Island filmmaker, Richard Siberry and his engaging documentary, “Montauk Rocks.”

Produced under the Oscail Films label and released in November, this exceptional piece of high-definition video pays tribute to a unique fishing culture and one of the most renowned villages on Long Island. According to Siberry, “Montauk Rocks” was “5 years in the making, at a cost of one drowned camera, one almost-drowned cameraman, one blown transmission and 2 broken ribs.”
